About Me
Welcome to my website! My full name is Jennifer Alexandra Thompson, but I always use my middle name, Alexandra (al-eks-AHN-dra). I am originally from Toronto, Canada and I spent a lot of my life growing up in Dallas, Texas. I am also a second generation Romanian immigrant on my mom's side.

I've always been fascinated in exploring how technology can help people in so many capacities; like speeding up grocery lines with self-checkout machines and automatically reminding someone of important birthdays through smart phone notifications. When I took a love to coding in high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a computer science degree and find more ways to improve people's lives through technology.

Currently, I'm a Computer Science Ph.D. student at Virginia Tech. My primary research interest is Computer Science Education and I aim to become a university professor.
